Question 1

What is ROV drone hull cleaning?

Accepted Answer

ROV (Remotely Operated Vehicle) hull cleaning uses an underwater drone fitted with rotating brushes to clean your hull while your boat remains in the water. The ROV is operated from the surface and covers the full hull quickly and efficiently — no diver required.

Question 2

What is diver hull cleaning?

Accepted Answer

Diver cleaning involves one of our qualified divers entering the water and manually cleaning the hull by hand using brushes and pads. It is particularly effective for areas the ROV cannot easily reach, such as around the keel, rudder, propeller, and waterline.

Question 3

Which service is right for my boat — ROV or diver?

Accepted Answer

For most standard hull cleans, the ROV is the faster and more cost-effective option. Diver cleaning is recommended when you need detailed attention to running gear (propeller, rudder, shaft), tight areas around the keel, or when the hull has heavy fouling that benefits from manual scrubbing. We can advise on the best option for your vessel when you enquire.

Question 4

Can I combine ROV and diver cleaning?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Our annual contract includes an ROV hull clean on visits 1 and 3, with visit 2 combining an ROV hull clean with a diver propeller and rudder clean. We can also arrange combined cleans on a one-off basis — just let us know what you need.

Question 5

How long does a hull clean take?

Accepted Answer

An ROV clean typically takes 1–2 hours depending on the size of the vessel and the level of fouling. A diver clean may take slightly longer for larger boats or heavily fouled hulls. We will give you an estimated duration when you book.

Question 6

How do I book a hull clean?

Accepted Answer

You can book directly through our online booking wizard at /book — simply select your service, enter your boat details, choose a date and time, and confirm. Alternatively, call or email us and we will arrange everything for you.

Question 7

How far in advance do I need to book?

Accepted Answer

We recommend booking at least 48 hours in advance to ensure availability. During peak season (June–September) we advise booking as early as possible as slots fill quickly.

Question 8

Can I reschedule or cancel my booking?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Please contact us as soon as possible if you need to reschedule or cancel. We ask for at least 24 hours' notice where possible so we can offer the slot to another customer.

Question 9

Will I receive a confirmation after booking?

Accepted Answer

Yes. You will receive an email confirmation with your booking reference as soon as your booking is submitted. We will also send a reminder the day before your scheduled clean.

Question 10

Do I need to be present during the clean?

Accepted Answer

You do not need to be on board, but we do ask that someone is available to grant access to the vessel if required. Please ensure the boat is accessible at the booked time.

Question 11

How much does hull cleaning cost?

Accepted Answer

ROV drone cleaning starts from €20 per metre of boat length. Diver cleaning starts from €40 per metre. A minimum charge applies to all bookings. You can get a live price estimate in the booking wizard by entering your boat length.

Question 12

Is there a minimum charge?

Accepted Answer

Yes, a minimum charge applies to all bookings regardless of boat length. Please contact us for details or use the booking wizard to see the estimate for your vessel.

Question 13

What is included in the price?

Accepted Answer

The price covers the full hull clean for the service type selected. A post-clean condition report is included with every visit. Travel to your marina within our service area is included — there are no hidden call-out fees.

Question 14

Do you offer discounts for regular customers?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Our annual contract gives you three scheduled ROV cleans per year (with a diver prop and rudder clean on the second visit) at a predictable per-metre rate, with priority scheduling included. Contact us to set up an annual plan.

Question 15

How do I pay?

Accepted Answer

Payment details are confirmed at the time of booking. We accept bank transfer and card payment. Please contact us if you have any questions about payment.

Question 16

Which marinas do you cover in Mallorca?

Accepted Answer

We cover marinas and anchorages across Mallorca, including Palma de Mallorca, Puerto Portals, Puerto Adriano, Port d'Andratx, Santa Ponsa, Alcúdia, Port de Pollença, and Cala d'Or. If your marina is not listed, please get in touch — we may still be able to assist.

Question 17

Do you travel to anchorages or private moorings?

Accepted Answer

Yes. We can attend anchorages and private moorings across Mallorca. Please provide the location when booking and we will confirm availability.

Question 18

Do you operate outside Mallorca?

Accepted Answer

Our primary service area is Mallorca. If you are based elsewhere in the Balearic Islands, please contact us to discuss your requirements.

Question 19

What types of boat do you clean?

Accepted Answer

We clean all types of recreational and commercial vessels, including sailing yachts, motor yachts, superyachts, RIBs, catamarans, and commercial workboats. If you are unsure whether we can accommodate your vessel, please get in touch.

Question 20

Is there a maximum boat size?

Accepted Answer

We regularly clean vessels of all sizes, from small RIBs to large superyachts. There is no strict maximum — pricing is calculated per metre so larger vessels are simply priced accordingly.

Question 21

Can you clean a boat with a complex hull shape?

Accepted Answer

Yes. The ROV handles most standard hull shapes effectively. For vessels with complex keel configurations, deep bilge keels, or other unusual geometry, our diver service ensures full coverage of areas the ROV cannot reach.

Question 22

Is underwater hull cleaning environmentally friendly?

Accepted Answer

Regular in-water hull cleaning is widely recognised as an environmentally responsible practice. A clean hull reduces fuel consumption and therefore emissions. Removing fouling before it becomes established also reduces the risk of invasive species spreading between marinas.

Question 23

Do you use any chemicals during cleaning?

Accepted Answer

No. Our ROV and diver cleaning methods are purely mechanical — brushes and pads only. We do not use any chemical cleaning agents, biocides, or pressure washing that could harm the marine environment.

Question 24

Does hull cleaning damage antifouling paint?

Accepted Answer

When carried out regularly, gentle mechanical cleaning does not damage antifouling paint — in fact it helps it work more effectively by keeping the surface active. Leaving fouling to build up and then removing it aggressively is far more damaging to the coating.

Question 25

How does a clean hull reduce fuel consumption?

Accepted Answer

Marine fouling — barnacles, algae, and slime — creates drag that forces the engine to work harder to maintain speed. Studies show that a heavily fouled hull can increase fuel consumption by 20–40%. Regular cleaning keeps drag to a minimum and keeps running costs down.
